LOCKDOWN DAY 24

It’s as if this week just flew by, don’t you agree?  Maybe it’s because we’ve all managed to keep ourselves occupied and active.  Or maybe it’s simply because we don`t really keep track of the time anymore.  I’ve never created so much workout content in such a short time – hopefully I’ll soon be able to share this with the members IN our studio…As much as I’ve always appreciated our beautiful studio, I promise that I will never, ever take all the smiling, cheerful, willing, regular faces of all my fitness friends for granted…I miss you!

I have come to realise how much of my identity has been tied into my job as a fitness instructor…But I have also realised that we all are so much more than just our day-jobs…I have seen dads turn into actors, comedians and child entertainers.  I have seen moms turn into karaoke stars, daughters turn into wonderful cooks and sons turn into handymen.  And, although we as South Africans are still not sure if Covid-19 is going to be naughty or nice to us in the end, I know we will get through this.

In the meantime it has also been a crazy week on social media with all kinds of weird challenges…People challenging one another to swallow raw eggs, to put on t-shirts while doing handstands, to post weird videos of coffin dances, to wear pillows as outfits, to share recipes and so on and so on and so on…

I would say our Sweatgear home challenge is by far one of the most sensible ones – yeah!  Sweatgear Head Office has sponsored 6 tights to give away as prizes over the course of three weeks, and we have challenged women throughout the country to choose one of our workouts on YouTube, complete it, to post a short video clip on social media and to tag and challenge three friends to do the same workout.  The response has been incredible and it’s going to be a tough decision on Tuesday to determine the two lucky winners of week two…

Yes, there’s still time to enter…A pair of Sweatgear pants IS a must have, and yes, if you have the confidence to post a video of yourself downing a shot of brandy, it will surely be an easy game to post a video of yourself proudly doing a jumping jack…or what?

…Actor Jeff Bridges once said: “Sometimes words fall short…”

Well, seeing that I haven’t compiled a motivational workout for April yet, I have decided to link it here, this week, on my Blog…Because sometimes, when finding the right words is hard, a picture paints a thousand words…I know the month of April is almost over, but I’m sure it`s not too late…it`s never too late…☺

Good luck for the week, and remember: “Tough times never last, but tough people do…” And as Irish-American stand-up comedian Johnny Corn said recently: “We are in this moment. I know it is scary and depressing. BUT next year this will be a story. Maybe a topic of conversation on a first date. When this whole thing is over it will be “do you remember when” and we will get there. This too shall pass.”

Yours in fitness

    I agree with your statement.
For each and everyone we need to keep our focus on God, as He will carry us through this.
What you and Sweat gear are doing is to give every lady an opportunity to feel special about themselfs.
What jeeps me going is to be active. We do a garden rout everyday (yip in our garden). But doing a Mirna’s Aerobic Class, gives me energy.
If you read Ps 149:3 Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp.
This is what dancing is all about, it is good for your mind, your body and most of all your soul, as dancing keeps your mind clear, you get extra energy and keeps yor soul clear.

So if you have time, do just one dans, and see the difference it make to your body, mind and soul.

Life is always about what someone makes of it.. Same with the Lockdown..

A day without a workout with Mirna… is not a day.
I’m so thankful for every single workout on Youtube..
