Meet our team of instructors

MIRNA BOTHMA

Owner and manager of Mirna`s Aerobic Studio

I have been involved in the fitness industry for 23 years.  I studied BA (Ed) at TUKS and taught Afrikaans and English at Hoërskool Ermelo before I decided to become a fitness instructor.  It has always been my dream to have my own studio.

Today I am a qualified Aerobics, Booty Barre®, Rhythm Pilates® Zumba, Step, Rebound, Power Pump and BASI Pilates® instructor based in Ermelo, Mpumalanga.  I am extremely passionate about the ever evolving fitness industry, and helping women feel empowered about their bodies has become a true calling.

Having fun while getting the rocking and healthy body of your dreams is very important to me.  I am a firm believer in continuing education to ensure that our Aerobics studio stays on top of all the latest fitness trends.  My fitness blog is not only a way of sharing my thoughts and knowledge, but also the expression of my passion for the written word.  Aristotle said: “You are what you repeatedly do.”  It is my firm believe that, if you want to be outstanding, you have to develop the habit of personal excellence.

SARITA KOCK

I am a huge fitness enthusiast and Yoga lover!

During my 20’s I practiced Bikram and Power Yoga in London and Cape Town for a couple of years and have recently decided to take up the practice again by doing a teacher`s training course with Trifocus.  Yoga promotes good health placing the physical body in positions that cultivate awareness, relaxation and concentration.  In a culture in which we rush from one day to the next, constantly trying to change our health, our body, or our emotions, or to plan our future, Yoga opens up the possibility of connecting to what we already have — to who we already are.

When people tell me that they want to try Yoga but are reluctant because they aren’t “flexible enough,” I tell them Yoga isn’t about attaining the perfect pose. It’s not about being “good enough” or “right”: Yoga is about removing any judgement and letting us be present to who we are now.”

I just love sharing my passion with others – I have also completed my Rebound certification and love being involved at Mirna`s excellent studio!

EDREI DU PLESSIS

There is no such thing as a bad workout!

My love for fitness started when I was working abroad in the United States. Going to the gym and doing aerobics classes helped me to make friends. I soon accepted Insanity Live and P90X challenges and was amazed by how much stronger I got with each class.

Upon discovering Mirna’s Aerobic Studio, I fell in love with the whole dynamic of the studio. Mirna’s fun and loving personality makes every class unique!

Mirna gives every person that walks through her door the opportunity to become stronger, healthier and to lose weight while having fun. I am extremely fortunate to be a part of such a amazing venture.

May our love for exercising, getting stronger, healthier and losing weight be contagious to everyone who steps into the Studio!

DEDRÉ SCHOEMAN

I am a natural creative soul with a passion for living life ‘well’ hence why I joined the Mirna’s Aerobic Studio-family. Dancing, exercise and teaching have been part of my life since my childhood.

I studied B.Sc. Genetics and did PGSC at UFS. I started my career as a teacher at Hoërskool Ermelo and I am currently teaching Mathematics. Acrobatic dancing formed part of my life since the age of 6 years and I qualified as an Advanced Acrobatics teacher. I have since been involved in the adjudication of national Acrobatic Festivals.

When I joined Mirna’s Aerobic Studio I was introduced to Booty Barre and I enjoyed the combination of a fun, energetic workout with the elegant movements that not only define and chisel the whole body but improves any ladies’ elegance and gracefulness.

I have completed rebound training. I enjoy being part of a culture at Mirna’s Aerobic Studio where helping people to find a place where they belong and can grow stronger body-mind-soul is what motivates you to give 100% each day.

I believe the heart is more than a muscle. A person is more than a body. Relationships are as important as results and fitness isn’t just for the fit, it’s for the willing.
